Riddle Rush — Game Guide & Rules
2–8 Players • 5 Rounds • ~70s Per Round • Real-Time Decaying Scoring
What is Riddle Rush?
Riddle Rush is a high-speed multiplayer trivia and lateral-thinking game. In each of the 5 intense rounds, all players in the room are presented with a brain-teasing riddle simultaneously. The objective is to decipher the clues, type your answer into the submission field, and submit before your friends to capture the maximum available points.
Round Lifecycle & Step-by-Step Flow
- The Riddle Reveal: At the start of each round, a new riddle appears on all players' screens simultaneously with a 70-second countdown timer.
- Progressive Hint Drops: As the round timer ticks down, progressive hints unlock on screen to guide players who might be stuck on tricky phrasing.
- Live Answer Submission: Type your answer into the text box and press Submit Answer. You can update and resubmit your answer at any time during the round; the server evaluates your final submission when you lock it in.
- Scoring & Reveal Phase: Once time expires (or all players submit), the correct answer is revealed, points are computed and added to the live leaderboard, and the next round begins automatically.
Scoring Formula & Speed Decay Mechanics
Maximum Points: 1500 Points • Minimum Base Points: 450 Points • Incorrect Answer: 0 Points
Scoring in Riddle Rush is server-authoritative and decay-driven. Correct answers submitted immediately after the riddle appears earn the full 1500 points. As the timer progresses, points decay smoothly over the 70-second round duration down to a floor of 450 points. This rewards fast thinkers while still granting significant points to players who solve the riddle using late hints.
Top Tips & Strategy
- Think Laterally: Riddles often rely on wordplay, double meanings, and puns. Don't just take the question literally.
- Speed vs. Accuracy: Submitting a wrong answer scores 0 points, but submitting the correct answer early earns top points. Balance quick intuition with careful reading.
- Short Answers: Answers are evaluated with intelligent fuzzy text normalization, stripping articles (like "a", "an", "the") and case sensitivity. Keep your answer concise.
Riddle Rush FAQ
Can I change my answer if I realize I made a typo?
Yes! You can type a new answer and hit Submit again before the round timer reaches zero.
What happens if nobody solves the riddle?
If no player enters the correct answer before time expires, the server reveals the solution and no points are awarded for that round.
