Rooms & Getting Started

How do I create a room and invite friends?

Click Play Now on the homepage, enter a nickname, choose a game, and click Create Private Room. The server generates a unique 6-character room code (e.g. K8X29Q). Share this code with your friends via WhatsApp, Discord, or text.

Do my friends need to create an account or download an app?

No! Swarag is 100% browser-based and account-free. Your friends just go to swaraggames.online, click Join Room, enter their nickname and the 6-character code, and they will be connected immediately.

How many players can play together in one room?

Most Swarag games support 2 to 8 players per private room. Story Chaos and Imposter require a minimum of 3 players for optimal group storytelling and deduction dynamics.

Can players on iPhones, Android phones, and PCs play in the same room?

Yes. Swarag is fully cross-platform and responsive. Players on touchscreens and desktop keyboards interact seamlessly in real time.

WebRTC Voice Chat

How does in-game voice chat work?

Every private room includes an optional WebRTC voice channel. Click the Mic Toggle button in the lobby or in-game floating widget. When your browser prompts for microphone permissions, grant access. Audio streams directly peer-to-peer between room participants.

Is voice audio recorded or stored on Swarag servers?

No. Voice audio is transmitted directly peer-to-peer between players' browsers. Audio data never passes through or gets saved to our servers.

What should I do if my microphone is not working?

Check your browser permissions (the lock icon in your browser address bar) to ensure microphone access is set to Allow. If you are on iOS Safari, ensure no other background app (like phone calls) is locking the microphone.

Gameplay & Room Management

What happens if someone gets disconnected during a game?

Swarag features a built-in reconnection grace period. Your unique player identifier is saved in browser local storage. If your mobile network momentarily drops or you accidentally refresh the page, you can re-enter the room within the grace period and resume your score and session seamlessly.

Can the room host switch to a different game?

Yes. The room host can click Change Game in the lobby at any time to pick another game without creating a new room code or disconnecting players.

How does speed-decay scoring work?

In timed challenge games such as Riddle Rush, Flash Jigsaw, and Memory Cards, correct solutions award up to 1500 maximum points. Points decay linearly over the round duration down to a base minimum (400–450 points), rewarding faster reflexes and quicker solutions.

How are roles assigned in Imposter?

In Imposter, the server randomly designates one player as the secret Imposter and delivers the secret word to all other players (Civilians). The Imposter must deduce the topic from subtle clues while blending in during group discussion and voting.

Privacy, Safety & Ads

Why are ads shown on Swarag?

Swarag is completely free for all players. Non-intrusive advertisements allow us to cover WebSocket server hosting, real-time bandwidth, and continuous game development without charging subscription fees.

How can the host kick disruptive players?

Room hosts have access to a Kick Player button in the lobby player list to remove unwanted participants immediately. Hosts can also lock rooms to prevent new players from joining.
