What is Draw & Guess?

Draw & Guess is a real-time multiplayer drawing and social deduction challenge. Players take turns assuming the role of the Painter, choosing a secret prompt, and sketching it on an interactive shared canvas. Meanwhile, all other players type their guesses into the in-game chat to identify the drawing before the timer expires.

Round Structure & How It Works

1. Painter Selection & Word Choice: At the start of each round, one player is designated as the Painter. The painter is presented with three randomized secret word options of varying difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard) and has 15 seconds to select one.
2. Live Canvas Sketching: The painter uses interactive canvas tools—including adjustable brush sizes, vibrant color palettes, an eraser, and an undo button. Drawing strokes are compressed and broadcast across WebSockets in sub-second intervals to all players' screens.
3. Live Guessing in Chat: Non-drawing players type their guesses into the in-game chat. If a guess is close, the system provides an encouraging notification; when a player types the exact word, the server awards points and hides the solution from the chat to let other players continue guessing.
4. Round Conclusion & Rotation: The round concludes when all active guessers succeed or time expires. The painter role rotates to the next connected player.

Scoring System

This dual-reward system incentivizes painters to draw recognizable sketches rather than obscure scribbles, ensuring exciting, collaborative gameplay for the whole room.

Important Rules & Etiquette

• No Text or Letter Clues: Painters must not spell out the secret word in letters or numbers on the canvas.
• Keep It Moving: You do not need to be an expert artist; quick, clear outlines and identifiable colors are often more effective than complex detail.
